Schreyer warns that regional policy will be main victim of budgetary reductions sought by Berlin

Brussels, 16/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - In response to the appeal from the German minister of finance, Hans Eichel for a "painful" reduction in Community budget spending for 2007-13, Commissioner Michaele Schreyer warned that cohesion policy in the Eastern regions of Germany would be the main victim of such action.
