30/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Eurostat announced on Friday an EU15 current account surplus of 22.3 billion euros in the third quarter of 2003, compared to 24 billion euro surplus for the same period in 2002 and a surplus of 11.1 billion euros for the second quarter of 2003. This resulted from a larger fall in current account credit transactions (-5.3%) than in current account debit transactions (-5.1%).
