Brussels, 30/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Monti has asked the Italian Government for details of its 2004 budget to gather information on financial measures benefiting certain Italian football clubs, under the framework of the "Salva-Calcio" decision adopted in February 2003 (see EUROPE 13 November 2003). Italian agency Ansa said that the Commission is particularly interested in sickness insurance contributions that clubs pay for their players.
