Relatively lenient decision likely on Ryanair - Posted for March transport council agenda

Brussels, 30/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Irish airline Ryanair may have to give back the equivalent of 25% of its subsidies from Charleroi airport and the Wallon Region - 3 to 4 million euros; this is the likely outcome of the European Commission decision on the Ryanair case, expected on 3 February, that will revoke in part the agreement reached between the low cost airline and Charleroi airport (see EUROPE 22 January p.10).
