Public hearing on influence of sex industry in EU stresses link between prostitution and trafficking in human beings

Brussels, 21/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - "The influence of the sex industry in the EU" was the title of a public hearing held in Brussels on 19 January by the Committee on Women's Rights of the European Parliament, to prepare a report by Marianne Eriksson (GUE/NGL, Sweden) on the same subject. Chaired by Greek Socialist Anna Karamanou, the meeting enabled representatives of the European institutions and experts to look at the influence of trafficking in human beings, education, media, Internet...
