21/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - The rate of inflation within the zone slowed down 2% in December according to final figures published by Eurostat on Wednesday. The annual rate of inflation had been announced at 2.1% as a first estimate for December, after 2.2% in November. With monthly adjustments, consumer prices increased by 0.4% after a 0.1% rise the previous month.
