Council reaches agreement on headquarters of future "Lamfalussy" monitoring committees - Other deliberations

Brussels, 21/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Beside the points raised in yesterday's EUROPE (pages 7 to 10), Tuesday's Ecofin Council in Brussels tackled the following subjects:

Accounting standards: Commissioner Frits Bolkestein summed up negotiations underway on international accounting standards IAS 32 and 39, highly controversial standards applicable to financial instruments.
