Valéry Giscard d'Estaing says further consultations should refer only to voting in Council and composition of Commission

Brussels, 21/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - "I have good news for you: the European Constitution stands a serious chance of being adopted by the end of 2004", Valéry Giscard d'Estaing told the MEDEF (French employers) board on Tuesday in Lille. The Convention President noted that last December in Brussels, "many Member States said that they were prepared to adopt the Constitution as it stood" (the Convention's draft), and the Presidency "should have made a public statement to this effect"....
