Brussels, 19/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - MEPs Elmar Brok, Philippe Morillon and Gary Titley, the respective presidents of the Foreign Security and Defence Affairs Committee, as well as rapporteurs on the new European architecture for security and defence, present on 25 November in Brussels the "2nd European Parliament Meetings on Defence", under the patronage of Roger Briesch, President of the European Economic and Social Committee and Lord Robertson, NATO Secretary General, who will also be present.
Round tables will explore the following themes: - "What Kind of Military Europe?", with General Löser, from Eurocorps, General Neveux, Commander of EU operation in Ituri (DRC), former Commander of EU forces in Macedonia Pierre Maral and the Director General of the EU High Command Rainer Schuwirth; - "What Kind of European Defence Policy?", with former French Defence Minister Alain Richard, as well as Jean-Louis Gergorin from EADS and Philippe Humbert from SNECMA (British Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon is invited); - "What Armaments Policy for Europe ?", with Charles Edelstenne from Dassault, Denis Ranque, President and Director General of Thalès, Klaus von Sperber, director of OCCAR, and Eneko Landaburu, Director General for External Relations at the European Commission (Information: action.communication@euro).
