Brussels, 19/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - In a press release published on 19 November, the European Commission announced that its Joint Research Centre has developed technical devices to help fight counterfeiting and piracy. These include radio transponders in watches, and the use of ultrasound to read the markings on watches. Another technique can be used to guarantee the reliable electronic sealing of containers, to make sure they have not been opened.
