17/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Council adopted without debate, on Monday, a decision on admission of the European Community to the "Codex Alimentarius" commission. Accession negotiations had begun in 1993. This commission aims mainly to define and harmonise sanitary rules at world level and issue recommendations concerning farm and fisheries products, foodstuffs, additives and contaminants, animal feed, veterinary medicines and pesticides.
