Brussels, 09/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - France has lodged a request for aid from the European Solidarity Fund with the European Commission to help cover the cost of the forest fires this summer. France believes that EUR 80 million of expenditure is eligible to be covered in full or in part by the Fund, European sources indicate.
