ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) motor industry

German-US maker DAIMLER CHRYSLER has signed a one billion euro contract with the local company BAIC - BEIJING AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY CORP with a view to joint production of top of the range Mercedes cars and lorries in China. It is tabling on annual production of 25,000 passenger cars.
