With a decline of 0.1% GDP in the second quarter, the euro zone is on the brink of recession

Brussels, 09/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the euro zone fell by 0.1% during the second quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter and stagnated at the first quarter 2003, according to data published by Eurostat on Tuesday. The European Statistical Office therefore reviewed its rapid estimate of 14 August downward, predicting stagnation of GDP during the second quarter 2003.
