Luxembourg, 15/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - Monday's Council decided to create a working group responsible for assessing the situation of illegal immigration in Libya, before defining the aid that the EU could provide for that country in this connection. The decision comes after Italy's request for exemptions to the embargo on the provision of military equipment imposed on Libya since 1999 in order to be able to provide policing equipment to control illegal immigration into Libyan territory.
