ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) brewing

SCOTTISH & NEWCASTLE, the largest British brewer is in lengthy discussions to acquire total control of CENTRAL DE CERVEJAS, a Portuguese brewer also active in product distribution. SCOTTISH & NEWCASTLE currently holds 49% of the company. Participation in the remaining 51% is assessed at more than £ 100 million.
