Divergences over harmonisation of rights of accused in criminal procedures

Veria (Greece), 31/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Member States are highly divided over the harmonisation of the rights of persons submitted to criminal procedures. On Saturday, during the first debate by the Ministers for Justice of the EU 15 on this issue, during the informal JHA in Veria, part of them (Denmark, Ireland, the United Kingdom etc.) showed great reticence.
