Transport Council postpones until June granting of mandate to Commission for airline negotiations with United States

Brussels, 31/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - Last Thursday and Friday's Transport Council upheld its pledge to strike political agreement on three major issues - eliminating single hull oil tankers, extending the ecopoint system and the second rail package. Furthermore, it managed to reach political agreement on the safety of aeroplanes from third countries landing in Member States' airports.
