Parliament gives go-ahead to ban on selling or mixing new carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic substances for reproduction

Brussels, 15/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - As we mentioned (see EUROPE of 12 October, p.14), by adopting the report tabled by Italian Christian-Democrat Giuseppe Nistico, the European Parliament came down in favour, on second reading, of banning the sale or mixing of chemical substances newly classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic of toxic for reproduction (CMR substances). The ban will take the form of an amendment to the legislation proposed by the European Commission on 14 May 2001 (23rd...
