Commission proposes action plan to enhance protection and conservation of marine ecosystems - first step to elaboration of thematic strategy

Brussels, 15/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission Communication is a radical new approach to protect and conserve marine ecosystems (see EUROPE 12 October p 12) and marks the first step towards the elaboration of a "thematic strategy" announced in the EU's 6th Environmental Action Programme on the sustainable use of marine resources.
