British fibre-optics components maker BOOKHAM (turnover £12.7 million during the first half of 2002) has bought two divisions of Canadian NORTEL for an estimated $112 million. The move will result in BOOKHAM's turnover increasing four-fold, rising to third largest fibre-optics maker.
