ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

British ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND is to acquire the US bank COMMONWEALTH BANKCORP (assets $1.8 billion with 60 agencies) for around $450 million through its American subsidiary CITIZENS FINANCIAL GROUP. The move will be settled in cash at the price of $46.50 per share.
