Informal Defence Council of Rethymnon to focus on EU's military capabilities and situation in Balkans

Brussels, 03/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The informal Council of EU Defence Ministers, to be held in Rethymnon (Crete) on 4 and 5 October in the presence of Javier Solana, EU High Representative for CFSP, will enable them to broach two major issues: the EU's military capabilities and the situation in the Balkans. In addition, the Greek Presidency has proposed discussing two other issues: the Mediterranean dimension of European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) and joint training of defence...
