Presidency thinks it will reach agreement on solidarity funds at next coreper meeting following BILATERAL contacts

Brussels, 03/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - Coreper hardly mentioned the question of solidarity funds for natural disasters on Wednesday, except for explaining that the Presidency hoped to reach a complete agreement with Member States during the next Coreper meeting on 9 October. The Council would like to approve the funds and the accompanying inter-institutional agreement during the session on 21-22 October, in parallel to the European Parliament plenary session.
