03/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is to approve, on 4 October, its communication concerning the Council's common position relating to amendment of the Directive 83/477/EEC on the protection of workers exposed to asbestos in the work place (see EUROPE of 27 September, p.12). The communication summarises the Commission's observations on this common position bearing in mind the amendments proposed by the European Parliament at first reading (see 11 April this year).
