03/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 30 September, the European Commission approved is most recent Communication on the EURES 2000-2001 activities report entitled, "Towards an integrated European labour market: the EURES contribution". The activities of these European employment services have coincided during the period mentioned, with an increased interest from the EU and Member States with regard to the positive influence that professional and geographical mobility should have on the European employment strategy and the fight against skill shortages and labour market bottlenecks. The report indicates that in 2000-2001 there was better EURES integration in the public employment services, as well as a consolidation of EURES cross-border partnerships and an improvement in the quality of services (processing of job offers and requests).
