Transport Ministers invite Ecofin to extend State guarantee system to airline company insurance, despite Commission opposition

Luxembourg, 03/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - A majority of Member States hope to extend beyond 31 October the regime that allows States to guarantee the risk of war and terrorism of their airline companies' insurance, noted Council President Flemming Hansen after the lunch between the EU15 Transport Ministers on Thursday, in Luxembourg. Several Member States, and France in particular, noted that the European companies cannot be placed in a situation of unfair competition compared to the US...
