France's SAINT-GOBAIN is to invest BF 530 million in Bastogne (Belgium) to finance new installations. In addition, ELVEX, SAINT-GOBAIN subsidiary, has opened a automobile window plant in Elva (Estonia), representing an investment of $3.8 million, and which will produce a thousand types of lateral windows and employ 30 people. ELVEX's turnover in the country amounted to 94 million kroner in 1999.
