ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) finances

BANCA FIDEURAM (Italian group SANPAOLO IMI) has signed an agreement to take over the totality of the French broker's WARGNY ASSOCIES (56 million euro turnover in 1999 with some 2000 employees). The cost of the operation would be around 100 million euro. BANCA FIDEURAM made a net consolidated profit in the first half of 2000 of 100.4 million euro for a net banking revenue of 256.6 million euro.
