27/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - On 29 September, Luisa Morgantini MEP (Italian, United Left) is taking part, with many personalities for the world of politics, the sciences, culture and religion, including several Nobel Prize winners, in a flight to Baghdad, to "break the embargo o passenger flights" in Iraq. This embargo is the fruit of a "tacit agreement" between airline companies, implemented since 1990, whereas the UN embargo only relates to the transport of freight, says Ms. Morgantini in a press release, in which she hopes that carriers "will not suffer blackmail by the United States, which has threatened no longer to allow airline companies involved in such flights to land on its territory".
