ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) agri-food

France's DANONE and the Brazilian brewing group AMBEV have announced the forthcoming acquisition of a 57.3% stake in SALUS, leader in bottled water in Uruguay. the two partners will achieve this operation through a joint-venture. With an annual turnover of $30 million in 1999, SALUS has a 45% share of the Uruguayan market of bottled water and 20% share of the beer market.
