The American manufacturer FORD has ended its talks for the takeover of the South Korean DAEWOO. According to sources close to the issue, the American manufacturer considers that an investment in the bankrupt manufacturer would not be viable. The American's bid amounted to 7.700 bn won (some $7 bn). See EI of 1 July.
