David Byrne announces proposals for improving welfare conditions of pigs

Brussels, 19/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission is soon to adopt new legislative proposals for improving the conditions of welfare of pigs. This was announced by the Commissioner for Health, David Byrne, to the members of the Eurogroup for animal welfare, which met on Tuesday in Brussels to launch a European campaign aimed at putting a stop to cruelty in pig farming.
