EUR 4 million for ECHO programme for prevention and preparation for catastrophes in South East Asia

Brussels, 27/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission approved a financing of EUR 4 million for the catastrophes preparation programme in South East Asia: Vietnam, Cambodia. Laos, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia.

Implemented since 1996 by the European Community's Humanitarian Office (ECHO) with non governmental organisations, the Red Cross and the United Nations Development programmes, this programme "DIPECHO" has as aim to reduce the vulnerability of populations exposed to...
