ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) hotels

A consortium made up of the French group ACCOR, German FIC GLOBE LLC (DEUTSCHE BANK group) and Polish GLOBE TRADE CENTER has signed an agreement with the Polish Treasury to take a 35.37% stake in the Polish hotel group ORBIS. The French group has taken 20% of the capital, FIC GLOBE LLC 10.37% and GLOBE TRADE CENTER 5%, the Polish sState retaining 6%. The transaction amounts to 578.6 million zlotys. ORBIS claims 42% of the hotel market in Poland and had a turnover of 1 bn zlotys in 1999.
