Brussels, 20/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has conditionally approved the project for the acquisition of the American beverage can producer, American National Can Inc (ANC), by the British company, Rexam Plc, specialised in consumer packaging. The Commission expressed some concern about the creation of dominant positions on two regional geographical markets within the European Union, namely northern Europe and southern Europe.
