20/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The French Presidency of the Council made on behalf of the EU the following statement: "The European Union welcomes the ratification of the agreement demarcating the maritime border between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait, signed on 2 July 2000. The European Union believes that this agreement, concluded in the interests of both countries will help preserve stability in the Gulf and strengthen regional economic co-operation."
