ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) rail equipment

DAIMLERCHRYSLER is in talks concerning the sale of its rail equipment subsidiary ADTRANZ (turnover EUR 3.6 billion for losses of EUR 400 million in 1999) to Canadian BOMBARDIER. The latter makes a turnover of CAD 3.4 billion in this branch out of a total of CAD 13.5 billion.
