European Commission proposes to merge, simplify and strengthen legislation in force on food safety

Brussels, 18/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - In order to renew and consolidate Community food safety regulations, in response to concern about food safety, that are conform to the guidelines of the White Paper in this connection, the European Commission drew up four new draft regulations that Commissioner David Byrne (Health/Consumers) presented on Monday to the Agriculture Council (see other article).
