A WTO panel condemns the way in which the Americans have introduced sanctions against EU in banana affair

Brussels / Geneva, 18/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has welcomed the condemnation by a World Trade Organisation (WTO) Panel of the urgency by which the United States has sanctioned certain Community exports in the banana affair, without waiting for green light from Geneva. This ruling is more symbolic than effective? However it opens the path to compensation, through the American courts, by the operators who feel that they are wronged by this twist in international...
