France's LEGRAND (low voltage electronic equipment: turnover of 646 million euro in the first quarter 2000) has announced the takeover of the American firm THE WIREMOLD COMPANY for $770 million. This company, specialised in the manufacture of plinths, channels, moulds and ground boxes used for passing electrical cables, should have a turnover of $460 million in 2000.
