17/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The 53 countries from the African continent have adopted, during the OAU summit in Lomé, a draft Treaty creating an African Union, whose institutions are similar to those of the European Union. However, the Parliament, whose make up and attribute will be defined in a future additional protocol, only has a consultative role.
