Luxembourg, 17/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank is granting a loan of EUR 500 million over 30 years to Treno Alta Velocita (TAV, owned by Ferrovie dello Stato) to finance the high-speed train between Milan and Bologna in Italy. The loan is aimed at the construction of a 182 km line between Milan and Bologna, which should enable the TAV to carry between 36 and 45 million travellers on a north-south axis between Turin, Milan, Rome and Naples.
