Most Member States will not give up moratorium on GMOs until Parliament and Council agree and new complete legal framework is known

Brussels, 17/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - It is out of the question to lift the de facto moratorium on authorisations for the marketing and dissemination into the environment of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) simply on the basis of a promise of new Community rules on the traceability and labelling of these foodstuffs developed from modern biotechnologies.
