17/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Italian Prime Minister Giuliano Amato hoped the enlargement takes place as of 2002. "I have the impression that the countries of eastern Europe are placed in quarantine in a form of car park where they risk sinking into cynicism," ad he added "we cannot ask those who have taken fifty years of Communism to wait for us to create our beautiful federation."
