CAIXA GALICIA, Spain's fourth largest savings bank, has bought 61 of the 70 branches of the Spanish subsidiary of the French group BNP-PARIBAS. The network employs 333 people and will give CAIXA GALICIA additional turnover of EUR 1.20 billion. The amount of the operation was not disclosed, but is rumoured in the Spanish press to be worth EUR 30 million.
