Luxembourg, 06/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Figures for April show that unemployment has continued to decline slowly both in the EU as a whole (dropping from 8.6% in March to 8.5% in April) and in the euro area (from 9.3% to 9.2%). Over a full year, the decline is around one point. There are nonetheless considerable differences from one Member State to the next, with rates varying from 2.2% in Luxembourg to 14.1% in Spain, but there has not been an increase in any state.
