Grant of another 20,000 tonnes of cereals

Brussels, 06/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to grant another 20,000 tonnes of cereals to victims of war and drought in Eritrea, and to Eritrean refugees in Sudan. These cereals will be distributed by the World Food Programme and will bring to 65,400 tonnes the total volume of cereals being delivered by the EU in Eritrea in 2000. An earlier allocation of 20,000 tonnes is being offloaded in Massawa (Eritrea) and will be distributed by NGOs.
