Standing Veterinary Committee approves lifting of last protective measures against certain Belgian food products

Brussels, 05/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The obligation imposed on the Belgian authorities to carry out testing on stocks of pigmeat, poultry and derived products from certain animals slaughtered after 20 September 1999, will be lifted in the very near future. The Standing Veterinary Committee has approved the European Commission proposal aimed at lifting the last protective measures adopted on certain Belgian food products following the dioxin crisis.
