The Belgian firm BEKAERT (wiredrawing and steel-cord) is to invest $84 million in a joint-venture with the American group ECD - ENERGY CONVERSION DEVICES and its subsidiary USS - UNITED SOLAR SYSTEMS ($12.8 million turnover in 1999).
